Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart was appointed to the Scottsboro City Council to Place 1 in 2024 after previously serving on the council from 2012 to 2020. During his earlier tenure, he was elected by his fellow council members to serve as Council President for six of his eight years in office.

Born in Anniston, Alabama, Stewart’s family moved to Scottsboro when he was just six weeks old, and he has proudly called the city home ever since. He graduated from Scottsboro High School and went on to earn an Associate in Science degree from Northeast Alabama Community College.

Stewart’s professional background includes more than two decades of leadership experience. He began his career in management with Walmart, serving from 1993 to 2006 before returning home to manage Big C Drugs in Scottsboro from 2006 to 2019. He currently works as a Pharmacy Solutions Consultant for Cardinal Health.

Throughout his career, Stewart has remained deeply committed to community involvement and service. He has served as President of both the Kiwanis Club and the Jackson County Homeless Ministry, Chairman of the Commercial Development Authority Board and the Deacons at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Vice Chairman of the Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce, and Executive Board Member for the Jackson County Historical Association. He has also volunteered as an Assistant Wrestling Coach and Junior Achievement leader, investing in Scottsboro’s youth.

Stewart is married to the former Lauren Warr, who is employed with the Scottsboro City Board of Education in Special Education. Together they have five children — Ava, Chloe, Ethan, Mason, and Audrey Claire — and are active members of Scottsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Dedicated to the continued growth and prosperity of his hometown, Stewart believes Scottsboro holds tremendous opportunity for development and progress. He is passionate about fostering cooperation, communication, and forward-thinking leadership among city and county officials to build a thriving community for future generations.

“I’ve enjoyed serving the citizens of Scottsboro in my capacity as council member,” Stewart said. “We’ve seen a lot of positive changes through the projects we’ve been able to accomplish together. I remain committed to working diligently for the people of Scottsboro to ensure continued growth and opportunity for all.”
