As a result of the most recent guidance from the National Weather Service regarding the severe winter weather and under the direction of the state of emergency declared by Governor Kay Ivey, Mayor Jim McCamy has announced that all City of Scottsboro offices will be closed tomorrow, January 10, 2025. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of residents and city employees during the severe weather event.
The National Weather Service has issued warnings for significant snowfall and icy road
conditions, which are expected to make travel dangerous throughout the region. Mayor McCamy
urges all residents to remain at home and avoid non-essential travel for their safety and the safety
of emergency responders.
While city offices will be closed, essential services such as police, fire, and public works will
remain operational. Crews will be working diligently to address road conditions and respond to
emergencies. Mayor McCamy expressed his gratitude to the city’s first responders and public
works teams for their commitment during this time.
“We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our community,” said Mayor McCamy. “I
encourage everyone to stay off the roads, stay warm, and stay informed as we navigate this
weather event together.”
Residents are encouraged to stay updated on weather alerts and city service announcements
through the City of Scottsboro’s official website and social media channels.
