Congratulations to recently hired firefighters Corey Griffin, Damon Locklear, and Brad Miller. These firefighters will begin Firefighter and EMT Basic training in January and will graduate in May, 2015.
Fire Chief Gene Necklaus and members of the Scottsboro Fire Department are proud to congratulate Firefighter Kyle Morris on passing the Paramedic National Registry. Morris received his training at Northeast Community College over the course of 3 semesters. He, along with the other Paramedics and Advanced EMTs can provide advanced life saving techniques such as IV treatment, airway procedures and certain medications for our citizens.
Congratulations to Firefighters Damon Locklear, Corey Griffin, and Brad Miller for their recent graduation from Fire Recruit School in Fort Payne. The three firefighters completed several weeks of an extensive fire training program; including certifications in Firefighter I & II, Rapid Intervention, and Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations. Both Locklear and Miller are licensed Emergency Technician Basics, and Griffin is a licensed Paramedic.
Miller was awarded the leadership award for the graduating class, and Griffin graduated valedictorian of the class. We are very proud of their accomplishments and look forward to their careers here at the Scottsboro Fire Department.

Fire Chief Gene Necklaus announces the promotion of Firefighter Greg Lockard to the Fire Department’s Training Officer. Lockard has over 20 Alabama Fire College certifications, including Fire Officer Level 4, Instructor 2, Safety Officer, Hazardous Materials, and multiple Technical Rescue certifications. Lockard first began his fire service career in 2004 after several years as a volunteer firefighter. Greg is a Nationally Registered Paramedic with over 20 years experience in emergency services. As Training Officer, he will be responsible for coordinating departmental training programs, record keeping and serving as Safety Officer.
