It also requires the Department to compose a list of all state boards and agencies that regulate licensing of businesses or occupations under their jurisdiction.

To access the necessary information on obtaining the state required permits, please visit the website for the Alabama Department of Revenue to obtain the contact information of the Board/Agency responsible for issuing your state permit. Please follow the steps below to access the chart with the Board/Agency name and contact person.

If your occupation/business is listed then you will need to send a copy of your state regulated license along with your 2008 City of Scottsboro business license application before your 2008 license will be renewed.

Municipal Business License Information

Act 2006-586 directs all state boards and agencies that regulate licensing of businesses or occupations under their jurisdiction to notify the Department of Revenue in writing of their regulatory requirements. It also requires the Department to compose a list of all such boards and agencies and to distribute the list to all municipal license officers.

Lists of regulatory boards and agencies have been prepared alphabetically by occupation/entity. Beginning with the 2008 license year, any business entity that is in an occupation shown on the list should present a permit or certificate from the regulatory board or agency prior to being issued a municipal business license.

Please visit www.ador.state.al.us for information on obtaining the state required permits.
