Robin Shelton

23rd Mayor of Scottsboro, elected in November of 2016.

William Robinson(Robin) Shelton, III is a Scottsboro native, graduating with the SHS Class of '72! Most of his professional career has been in healthcare, being a Registered Nurse for 30 years. Robin was elected to two 6 year terms on the Scottsboro City Board of Education from 1992-2004. He and his wife Vicki Webb Shelton are small business owners as well. Robin has a strong desire to see Scottsboro grow and prosper, and become a place his nine grandchildren will be able to work and raise their families - if they so desire.

 

Mayor's Priorities

  • Complete Projects

    There are some major renovation projects going on in Scottsboro right now, the Downtown Square renovation, building of Veterans Field, and the Rec Com renovations. Getting these completed under budget is a major priority for the Mayor.
  • Business & Economy

    The Mayor has an Economic Development Strategy to develop a strong environment in which companies can flourish.
  • Infrastructure

    Completing the service road on Hwy72, doing traffic studies to find better traffic patterns, and working on the resurfacing of more roads and culvers are major priorities for the City.
  • Safety

    Strategically placing some community storm shelters within Scottsboro city limits for use by all citizens is a priority.
